Locum pharmacist shifts with transparent pay
Filter UK community pharmacy shifts by EPOS, location, rate, and urgency. Apply once your GPhC documents are verified — no agency mark-up, no surprise deductions, paid directly by the pharmacy.
What this role usually struggles with
Opaque agency rates
You see a number, then deductions appear — admin fee, holiday pay reclassified, umbrella fees.
Surprise EPOS
You turn up on the day and discover a system you've never used, with no support.
Slow agency pay
30, 45, even 60-day wait on agency invoices is normal across the market.
Wasted application time
Filling in forms for shifts you can't actually do because of distance or role-fit.
What LocumHire changes
The rate posted is the rate you get
Pharmacies pay our platform fee separately. Your gross pay is exactly what was advertised.
EPOS shown up-front
Filter shifts by the systems you already know — apply only where you can hit the ground running.
Paid directly, no middleman
The pharmacy pays you the full posted rate directly — LocumHire never holds your pay.
One verification, all shifts
Upload GPhC + ID once. After review, you can apply to anything on the platform.
Common questions
Do I need to be GPhC-registered to use LocumHire?
Yes. We only verify pharmacists who hold current GPhC registration. Upload your certificate and ID — most reviews complete the same business day.
What is the typical hourly rate?
Rates are set by the pharmacy on each shift and shown to you before you apply. UK community pharmacist rates on LocumHire currently sit between £25–£45/hr depending on region, role, and urgency.
Can I see what EPOS the pharmacy uses?
Yes. Pharmacies must declare the EPOS system on each shift (Proscript, Positive Solutions, Cegedim Pharmacy Manager, Rx Web, Titan, Apotec, Pharmacy X) so you can filter for ones you know.
Is the rate before or after the platform fee?
The rate you see is your gross pay. The platform fee is paid by the pharmacy, not deducted from you.
When do I get paid?
The pharmacy pays you directly for the shift, on the terms you agree with them. LocumHire doesn't process or hold your pay — we only invoice the pharmacy our platform fee.
What if there's a dispute?
We pause the pharmacy's platform-fee invoice and review. Disputes are uncommon — most resolve within 48 hours once both sides supply information.
